Automaker VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) today reported 9.2 per cent increase in total sales at 4,064 units in June.
The company, which is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 3,723 units in the same month last year.
Domestic sales stood at 3,767 units in June as against 3,616 units in the year-ago period, up 4.2 per cent, VECV said in a statement.
Exports, jumped by 177.6 per cent during the month to 297 units from 107 units in June 2011.
VECV said sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market declined 1.3 per cent to 2,195 units during the month as against 2,223 units in the year-ago period.
Domestic heavy commercial vehicle sales grew by 6.1 per cent to 523 units from 493 units in June 2011, it said.
